An army of pint-sized revolutionaries are ready to take Broadway by storm! The Miz kids have been announced for Cameron Mackintosh’s revival of Les Miserables, which stars Ramin Karimloo as Jean Valjean, Will Swenson as Javert, Caissie Levy as Fantine and Nikki M. James as Eponine. Directed by James Powell and Laurence Connor, the newly imagined production is slated to begin performances March 1 at the Imperial Theatre. Opening night is set for March 23.
The small stars completing the ensemble are Joshua Colley (Newsies) and Gaten Matarazzo (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), who will rotate in the role of Gavroche, Angeli Negron (Broadway debut) and Mckayla Twiggs (Once), who will rotate in the roles of Little Cosette and Young Eponine, and Mia Sinclair Jenness (The Sound of Music Live!) who will be a member of the ensemble and understudy both Little Cosette and Young Eponine.
In addition to Karimloo, Swenson, Levy and James, the cast of Les Miserables also includes Andy Mientus as Marius, Charlotte Maltby as Cosette, Kyle Scatliffe as Enjolras, Cliff Saunders as Thenardier and Keala Settle as Madame Thenardier.
The Les Miserables ensemble features Erin Clemons, Emily Cramer, Natalie Charle Ellis, Jason Forbach, Heidi Giberson, Nathaniel Hackmann, Andrew Kober, Chris McCarrell, Melissa Mitchell, Dennis Moench, Adam Monley, Betsy Morgan, Melissa O’Neil, Max Quinlan, John Rapson, Terance Reddick, Arbender Robinson, Christianne Tisdale and Aaron Walpole.
Les Miserables is written by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg and is based on the 1862 novel by Victor Hugo. It has music by Schonberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, original adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird and additional material by James Fenton. Les Miserables includes scenic design by Matt Kinley, costume design by Andreane Neofitou and Christine Rowlands, lighting design by Paule Constable, sound by Mick Potter and projections by Fifty-Nine Productions.
